In this 9-Day Workshop, Learn to Build a Dome Home with Aircrete!

During this intensive workshop, we will continue building the Sound Dome Temple of Avalon using sacred geometry and the ecumenical concept of healing through sound, vibration and frequency—just as in ancient times.

Here is what you’ll learn:

The foundational theory behind Aircrete: how the foam-infused cement mixture is made, why it works, and how it compares to traditional concrete.
How to mix, pour and shape Aircrete for curved, domed and organic forms—perfect for working with sacred geometry in the temple structure.
Practical hands-on experience with tools and forms: we’ll work with adjustable block forms, mixing buckets, foam generators and injection mixers, making the process straightforward even for beginners.
Structural and sustainability benefits: you’ll understand the material’s performance (lightweight density, insulation value, durability, ability to be cut and shaped) and how to apply it for sacred-geometry architecture.
Finishing and integration: how to add interior and exterior finishes, carve niches and work with forms that honour the sacred design of the temple, while making the structure acoustically rich and spiritually resonant.

The bigger experience: In your free time, you’ll have the chance to explore some of Mount Shasta’s magical vortexes—like waterfalls, caves or the headwaters at City Park. These optional visits are not included in the workshop, but they’re a beautiful way to connect with the land’s high vibration and experience the magic of this sacred region while helping build our temple

Meet your Instructor

Aaron McWilliams

Since early childhood, Aaron has long been an activist for the Sustainability Movement working as both a land steward and tiny-home builder for 15+ years. Adapting community-based living as a direction of truth, Aaron found joy in community-building by applying new and innovative practices of sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly building methods for the greater good of both individuals and the Planet. During his time living in Hawaii, Aaron crossed paths with Hajjar Gibran, a designer and pioneer of sustainable dome homes and founder of DomeGaia - and quickly awakened to the urgency of sharing a new building technology with people everywhere. Soon after, Aaron found his calling and stepped away from traditional brick/stick-and-mortar methods of architecture to using aircrete - the main ingredient to the Environmentally Trusted Dome Home. There is a need for building methods that are fireproof and able to withstand a changing eco-system. Air-create domes are an answer to a more sustainable, healthy and happy community.

Workshop Plans & Contributions

As a Private Membership Association (PMA), Avalon offers all teachings, trainings, and experiential activities through a donation-based model that supports the spiritual, personal, and professional growth of our community. Every workshop, class, and ceremony is a private activity available exclusively to our members.

For our III Aircrete Workshop, we have created several contribution options so that each member can choose the level of participation that best aligns with their time, commitment, and desire to deepen their knowledge of this sacred and innovative building technique.

During this workshop—and as is already a tradition in our gatherings—we will be offering lunch each day as a gesture of gratitude for your participation and contribution to this sacred project. It’s a simple way for us to nourish the body while we create, learn, and build together.

Deposits and reservations are non-refundable, as they support the preparation and energy of our sacred work. However, we understand that life unfolds in unexpected ways. If you cannot attend, your contribution may be transferred as a credit toward any future Avalon workshop or retreat within 18 months.

Suggestions for a Deeper Experience

If you feel called to stay longer, you are welcome to extend your visit to explore Mount Shasta or participate in volunteer work, applying what you’ve learned in a meaningful way.

After the workshop, you’ll also have the opportunity to visit some of the most sacred places on the mountain, and we’ll gladly guide you so you don’t miss out on this magical experience. Some of these spots include the Headwaters of the Sacramento River, Castle Lake, Lake Siskiyou, Hedge Creek Falls, Faery Falls, Heart Lake, and many more. So don’t forget your hiking shoes and swimsuit!

For those traveling from afar, the nearest airports are Redding (California), Medford (Oregon), and Sacramento (California). From any of these locations, you can rent a car to reach Avalon comfortably. We do not offer transportation services, but we can connect you with other members who provide rides for a contribution.
